A 2,000 sq ft colonial with 160 linear feet and 6 downspouts is about 6-7 hours including tear-off, forming, hanging, and cleanup. Larger homes (over 240 lf) or steep gable work can stretch to a day and a half.
Seamless gutters are formed continuously from a single coil of aluminum right on your driveway, so the only seams are at corners and downspout outlets. Sectional gutters (the kind sold at big box stores) have a seam every 10 feet — and every seam is a future leak. On Long Island's heavy rain and freeze-thaw cycles, sectional gutters typically fail at seams within 5-7 years. Seamless aluminum lasts 20+ years.
Honest answer: depends on your trees and roof. Micromesh stainless (LeafFilter, Gutter Helmet's mesh line, LeafGuard Brothers) is the gold standard for homes near oaks, maples, and pines — it blocks pine needles and shingle grit that clog everything else. Reverse-curve (LeafFilter's curved system, Gutter Helmet's classic) is great if you already have 6" gutters. Plain screens and foam are cheaper but clog faster. We'll walk you through tradeoffs at your free estimate.
